Best Bet CFL Pick Results for July 27-28, 2007

Well...Well...Well...So we finally hit the money with our Best Bet Picks. We stuck with CFL only this weekend and it paid off big time to the tune of $751 as Winnipeg beat Hamilton and Saskatchewan beat Edmonton and both games were OVER the O/U line. We went 4 for 4 and took home the money.

I guess the time off helped get my game back on and maybe I should do that more often. Too bad I didn't have Montreal on there as well because I knew they would win with Toronto's QB Bishop out. Toronto and Montreal have the re-match next week as do Winnipeg and Hamilton.

Milt Stegall also got the All-Time CFL TD record of 138 TD passing George Reed and Michael Pringle who were both tied at 137. Stegall tied the record in the first game of the season on June 28 and was held scoreless since, until Friday night's game. He added one more TD and now has 139.

So with this big win we'll take our time and look for some good picks to do it again. This $751 puts us just over the plus side since we spent $700 on tickets so far. We will have to put together a few good wins now to get us a nice cushion to work with.

Best Bet CFL Picks for July 27-28, 2007

After taking the week off due to the terrible picks I was making, I'm back with a Double Play ticket with 2 CFL games. I didn't play yesterday, but maybe I should have, as I correctly predicted a Montreal Alouettes victory over the Toronto Argonauts.

We are making our picks on tonight's Winnipeg Blue Bomber versus Hamilton Tiger Cats game in Winnipeg at Canad Inns Stadium and tomorrow's Saskatchewan Roughriders versus Calgary Stampeders in Regina at Mosiac Stadium which I prefer to call Taylor Field.

We are sticking to CFL only this time and picking Winnipeg and Saskatchewan to win and both games to go OVER. With a $100 wager the payout will be $751 which will get us back to even we hope.

This is embarassing already and I won't be making any picks tonight. 1-4 on the picks last night. EDM won by 1 point vs SK in the CFL so that's a tie and the total was 41 which make in UNDER. Det and Yankees both got blown out last night at home yet. Cleveland just barely eeked out a 3-2 win. So as you can tell I'm not happy and just want to finish this blog and maybe I'll come back Sunday or Monday with some fresh picks.

Best Bet MLB and CFL Picks for Friday, July 20, 2007

Ok so I decided I'd make the Best Bet picks for Friday. There is a CFL game and a couple of MLB games I like. Saskatchewan is in Edmonton for Friday Night Football on TSN so I figured I wouldn't let the slump ruin it for me. Sask is coming off a beating after looking so good in it's opening games. Edmonton squeaked out a win in Winnipeg last week. With this in mind I was up in the air with picking a winner. I figured I'd give Edmonton the edge being the home team. With the O/U line being 48.5 they are certainly tempting us to go with the OVER. I'll bite and take the over. Hopefully it pays off.

In MLB I like Detroit, NY Yankees and Cleveland. Yes I'm making 5 picks total tonight. 4 winners and one Over/Under so we'll be using the Double Play selection slip. All 5 correct with a $100 wager would pay out $801. Let's end this slump PLEASE! LOL

Best Bet MLB and CFL Pick Results for Thursday, July 19, 2007

I think I'm going to officially change the name of the blog to "What Not to Bet On". It seems I'm making some bad choices in my picks. Sure I got the BC and Cleveland picks correct but the money picks, Winnipeg to win and Winnipeg/Montreal Over, I got wrong. For those that are saying "but Winnipeg did win", in Pro-Line your team needs to win by 4 or more points.

Now if we were smart enough to realise that this would be close we would have taken a TIE which is a win by 3 or less points by either team or an exact tie of course. Ties also pay more because they are harder to predict. BC and Hamilton almost finished in a tie and probably should have but when Hamilton scored the last TD late in the game they went for 2 point convert instead of one. Strange decision considering they were 4 points back after scoring the TD. 1 point convert would have left them a field goal to tie. They didn't convert the 2 and remained 4 back and the onside kick fail so it didn't matter in the end.

Now with this slump we're in I'm not sure I want to make any picks tonight. I'll look the games over and study some stats and get back if I plan on making some picks.

Best Bet MLB and CFL Picks for Thursday, July 19, 2007

We took a day off yesterday to regroup after taking a beating with our Best Bet picks the previous few days. We are back to take another crack at it and hopefully the embarassment will disappear with a win.

CFL Week 4 is here and the QB's took a big hit in week 3. Toronto lost started Michael Bishop and Mike McMahon will start for Toronto on Saturday. BC Lions starter Dave Dickenson suffered a concussion and Buck Pierce is nursing a sore throwing hand.

We are going with a Sport Select Double Play ticket tonight. Double Play is the game that allows you to play Pro-Line and Over/Under on the same ticket.

We will be focusing on the two CFL games tonight with our picks. Winnipeg is in Montreal and the Bombers are coming off a loss at home to Edmonton while Montreal got their first win of the season against Hamilton. This game looks to favor Montreal and Winnipeg has had a tough time winning in Montreal over the past several years. Kevin Glenn leads the league in passing and Charles Roberts is the leading rusher. I feel they will bounce back and lead Winnipeg to the victory. I do like this game as an OVER pick as well.

BC is an easy add on game and it's on TV right after the Bomber/Alouette match up so why not. I also like Cleveland over Texas in MLB action tonight as well.

Our 4 picks and a $100 wager will bring in $707 with 4 correct picks. Hopefully the day off gave us the break we needed to get this blog to live up to it's name.

We are going back to picking a dog tonight. A bird dog. The Toronto Blue Jays are sending Halladay (10-4) to the mound. The NYY are sending another left hander in Pettitte (5-6). I have a feeling the birds are going to come out flying for us.

I'm going with Boston and Atlanta to bat clean up for us on this ticket. I am also going to go with another bird. They are a slight favorite. The St.Louis Cardinals. They are in Florida and I think they'll get the job done for us. With a $100 wager the payout will be $607 which will put us +$207.

Best Bet MLB Pick Results for Monday July 16, 2007

So we go with a dog that is a bird in the Toronto Blue Jays and they fail us. This is starting to turn out as a "Why you should not bet" blog. We go 2-1 last night and we get the 2 favorites right but our dog wrong. This is why the house wants you to play parlays. When you only get one wrong you still lose as we've seen now twice in only three days of our Best Bet Picks.

I'll have to go back to the dugout and see where I've been going wrong in my picks, well the picks I'm getting wrong anyways.

Best Bet MLB Picks for Monday, July 16, 2007

Here we go again with our Best Bet MLB picks for Monday. After two straight days of stinkingup the joint we are going to put a ticket together we're hoping will put us back on track. We're going to start off talking about an underdog. Toronto has gone 3-1 vs the Yankees this season. They are going up against a left handed pitcher in Igawa (2-2). Against left handed pitchers this season Toronto is 17-9. With this game Toronto can leap frog NY into second place. After doing so bad with favorites we think this dog should come through for is in big bad Yankee stadium.

Back to a favorite. We did go 3-1 two days ago with them. So close to a winning ticket. I like Boston at home vs KC tonight. Seems easy enough for Boston right?

LA Dodgers send 10-1 Penny to the mound against Philladelphia (Moyer 7-7). It looks like a safe bet but anything can happen in baseball but we're going with it.

Instead of pushing it for four games we'll stick with the three. $100 wager will net a $380 payout which will get us over the even mark and out of the red.

Best Bet MLB Pick Results for SundayJuly 15, 2007

Terrible showing last night as we went 1-3. That's what I get for not picking early with all the good early games. I shouldn't have force the late game picks. Picking favorites in MLB two days is a row shows why that's not the smart thing to do all the time. I should be thinking these picks over better before posting them for all to see. I don't delete the picks when I get them wrong or edit them to make me look like I'm doing good. Sports betting is called gambling for a reason. Best Bet Sport Select Picks for Sunday July 15, 2007

So we took a hit yesterday on the first posting of the best bet picks. One wrong is the same as all wrong when it comes to winning or losing on Pro-Line. We'll see if we came make up for that today.

The early games have already started so it won't seem fair for me to pick those for the best bet picks today even though I have already purchased my Sport Select tickets for the day. I made one ticket just with the later games.

I know it didn't work out last night but we like the odds on a few favorites again. $100 wager will bring in $410 payout with all 4 selections correct. I would have prefered to use a couple early games with the Best Bet but as mentioned no point in posting those picks after they already started the games.

Best Bet Sport Pick Results for Saturday July 14, 2007

We came so close to getting a winner on the first post of the Best Bet Sports Picks yesterday. Montreal did us right in the CFL, Philly clobbered St. Louis and ANA took care of Texas in MLB. But KC managed to get the victory in Cleveland by one run. That puts us at 3 correct and 1 wrong on our Pro-Line ticket. You need all correct to win. I was even having seconds thoughts on that one game too. Maybe we'll have better news on our LottoM8.com blog in a few minutes ;-)

So when betting with Sport Select's Pro-Line, knowing just one game can screw up the whole ticket makes the selection process critical.

Best Bet Sport Select Picks for Saturday July 14, 2007

As mentioned in the previous post we're going to a "Best Best" selection process for our sport picks. We're going to be picking the Best Bets for our Sports Select ticket.

Montreal is in Hamilton in CFL action tonight and even though the Alouettes haven't been playing all that well we believe they should be able to get it done against the lowly Tiger Cats. It's somewhat of a scary play being in Hamilton but it's the only CFL game on the board and it's on TV and I want to start off the Best Bets with a CFL pick.

In MLB we like Philly, Cleveland and L.A. Angels. With a $100 wager we can more than triple our money on the night. Were were thinking of adding and Under on the football which would have brought the potential prize to $615 but we'll stick with a straight Pro-Line ticket and start off with 4 games. Sport Select does have the Double Play game that allows you to play Pro-Line and Over/Under on the same ticket if you want to add that game in there. Remember gambling is just that gambling and you use any picks I may make at your own risk. Never wager more than you can afford to lose. The best way to guarantee you won't lose is to NOT play and just use these picks for entertainment purposes only.

Sports Pick Results for Friday, July 15, 2007

So we took a hit all over the board but when you making picks for everything you're bound to get a few wrong. When betting you never bet on every game anyways. You find the best best to make. I think from now on we're going to have just a "Best Best Sport Select ticket picks".

We went 0-for 2 in the CFL Friday night and Milt Stegall didn't get the TD record. MLB didn't fair much better. We're looking to do better starting with our Best Bet Sport Select Picks today.
